I think we may just briefly look at each match for this PPV in this preview since there are only 6 matches schedule for the card right now.
The Hype Bros vs. The Usos
I don't like the idea of having the two teams that just lost on Tuesday night get another chance in a single elimination tournament like this, but it's not really the end of the world either. And I feel it's a device to get more heat on the recently turned Usos so it should turn out alright.
Heath Slater and Rhyno vs. ?????
I predict it's going to be Slater and Rhyno against The Usos here and I'll take The Usos to win. That move cements their heel turn, gives them a built in feud with American Alpha for the titles upon their return, and adds another layer or heartbreak to the Heath Slater storyline. I'll say that the Usos cheat to win and end up pinning Rhyno while Slater is unconscious or something on the outside. That way, Slater can complain that Rhyno lost the match for them and cost him a contract (even though Rhyno has carried him to the finals thus far). Then you have a built in Rhyno/Slater feud as well.
And this heel turn is the best thing the WWE could have done with The Usos at this point. Well done.
Winner: The Usos
I hate to burst people's bubbles here, but you aren't getting a finish in this match. Orton is coming off a TKO loss to Lesnar in his re-debut and Bray hasn't really had a significant feud in the recent future, so he can't really take a loss either. I haven't read anything on him in awhile but maybe this would be the spot for a Luke Harper return??? Not sure what his time-table currently is. But this match will have a wonky ending that continues this feud to the next SmackDown PPV.
Winner: No Decision
Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Bella vs. Carmella vs. Naomi
I have no idea who wins this. I know that's not the hard hitting journalism you expect from these PPV previews but it's the truth. The only woman I can't see winning is Carmella. Let's just percentage these things out. Chances of winning:
20% Becky Lynch
20% Nikki Bella
10% Alexa Bliss
And I really don't have a reason why I have Naomi as my highest odds, but just get some feel that WWE has to do something with her or else she can quickly go back to being irrelevant like she's had been in the past year. And I really don't see a strong reason to put the title on anyone else, so Naomi is just as good as any option in my book. But I can see it going a lot of different ways here.
The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler
Twelve to eighteen months ago, you couldn't have found a good word about Miz on the internet. Now, everyone seems to be in love with how great he is. The internet is a fickle place my friends.
But the Miz love is well deserved in my opinion. He's always been great on the mic and never has bad matches. I know it's easy to say now but I've always been a Miz guy. Ask @TShed4041 on Twitter. We've raved about him for years. He's one of the few pure heels WWE has had on its roster for the best part of the last decade. Those are hard to come by these days.
And his run right now is probably his best work since his main event run in the early 2010s. I can't see him losing the Intercontinental Championship right now in the middle of it.
Winner: The Miz
Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles
PUT THE TITLE ON STYLES.
Dean isn't doing anything for me as champion. AJ is the one of, if not the best, things going in the WWE in 2016. A title switch makes sense. I'm not sure if the WWE is ready to pull the trigger on a switch yet but I think it's time. If it doesn't come here I think it has to by the time Survivor Series rolls around. So may as well just do it now I'd say.
Winner: AJ Styles
