I've been hyping this new Big 3 basketball league that's to debut this summer for weeks now in the Three Count. It just announced some big news yesterday. Fan-favorite and internet legend GUS JOHNSON will be on the call for these games. He'll be announcing these 3-on-3 basketball games along side Jim Jackson on Fox Sports. Michael Rapaport will serve as the third man on the team as a sideline reporter, presumably interviewing players mid-game and providing a little edge and comedy to the broadcast. Significant announcement from the league that will help provide this league with some instant credibility.
I'm sure by now you've seen the picture, or video, or gif floating all over the internet of the President and the Pope. If for some reason you haven't seen it yet, here it is:
Forget about the Pope and his frown for a second. Just focus on the President. That's a guy giving a big "F You" to all the people out there that don't like him. He's 100% trying to rub this moment into their faces. And I love it.
The President has been heavily criticized in his short time in Office so far, both fairly and unfairly I'm sure. He knows he has a lot of people out there that dislike him; hate him even. And he knows how big of an honor it is, I'm sure, to not only meet the Pope but get to spend some time with him and have a conversation with him. It's a very prestigious honor and privilege. He knows many people are going to be upset about him getting that opportunity, and he is standing there grinning from ear to ear just to throw it in all of their faces.
I love it, just absolutely love it. That's Pro Wrestling 101 to garner heat. "Oh, you don't like me? Well I'm here with the Pope because I'm a winner and you're not. Tough break loser." There's a reason this guy is not only the President of the United States but also a WWE Hall of Famer. This was perfect. Well done, Mr. President.
As I get older I've found I get annoyed by little things quicker than I did in the past. Not that it gets me really upset or angry by any means, and maybe this is just the end of the school year talking here too, but just little things that get under my skin. Like today when I stopped at Casey's to fill up my car with gas. You may already know where I'm going with this, but do we really have to answer a 10 question survey before I fill my car with gas? Come on.
Are you getting a car wash? Are you paying inside or outside? Debit or Credit? Please put in your zip code. Do you want a receipt? It goes on and on.
And I don't really even mind all the questions really but couldn't they ask most of those questions while the car is being filled with gas? Put in your card, start filling it with gas, and then answer all those extra questions while the gas is pumping. You have to stand there and wait anyways, why not answer those questions then instead of waiting to answer them at the beginning only to wait again? Just seems like that process could be more efficient.
Again, not that this is the end of the world by any means but it could be so much better. I realize it's better than it was 10 years ago where you had to go in and pay for your gas at the register inside every time you filled up. So we are make strides. Just think we could go next level on this if we really wanted to.
