Quick picks for Extreme Rules tonight:
Rich Swann & Sasha Banks vs. Alicia Fox & Noam Dar
I can't see Sasha being bumped down to this feud AND losing, she's gotta get a win here.
Winners: Swann and Banks
WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Neville (c) vs. Austin Aries
Almost feels like it's now or never for Aries. He should win here to have a quick run with the title before moving up and out of the Cruiserweight Division.
Winner: Austin Aries
RAW Tag Team Championship
Steel Cage Match
The Hardy Boyz (c) vs. Sheamus and Cesaro
I feel the same way about Sheamus and Cesaro the way I do about Aries, but I'm less optimistic they actually win the Championship here. Hopefully, but I think I'll stick with the Hardys.
Winner: The Hardy Boyz
RAW Women's Championship
Kendo Stick on a Pole Match
Alexa Bliss (c) vs. Bayley
There's a simple rule in sports: If someone is hot, keep feeding them. Alexa Bliss is rolling right now, keep feeding her.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
Ambrose can lose the Championship via DQ
Dean Ambrose (c) vs. The Miz
The stipulation seems to be set in place for The Miz to get a cheap win. I think it's a swerve. Maryse will attack The Miz to blatantly DQ Ambrose, but Angle comes out and restarts the match. This leads to Ambrose winning and The Miz still being able to complain about it on RAW tomorrow.
Winner: Dean Ambrose
#1 Contender's Match
Fatal Five Way
Samoa Joe vs. Seth Rollins vs. Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns
I went in more depth with this match on Friday's Three Count if you want more discussion on it but I'm taking Reigns here. Just hard to go wrong ever picking Reigns no matter what and that would also fast track the Lesnar vs. Reigns feud we are inevitably getting at some point.
Winner: Roman Reigns
I know there haven't been a lot of people who have done it but has there ever been a quieter 600th home run than the one Albert Pujols hit last night? Next to no publicity or media play. Part of that is probably the rise of the internet and social media, where there are more sources to get content than there was Sosa, Griffey, or Bonds hit their 600th and you almost had to rely on ESPN to see it. Now that isn't the case but I still was shocked with how little coverage there was leading into such a historic event. And lord knows baseball can use all the eyes on its product it can get these days.
Oh my. Little bit of Breaking News here. This story just came up on my Twitter feed right as I was trying to figure out a 3rd topic to blog on this morning. The IOC is strongly considering adding 3-on-3 basketball to the 2020 Olympics. That sounds like a lot of fun. The article states it probably wouldn't be NBA players competing in the event and D-League players instead but that still sounds fun. I'm in on this.
