Those that know me or follow me on social media know I was a big supporter of Penn State getting the 4th playoff spot and vehementedly against Ohio State making the CFB Playoffs. Not that the results of the playoff games should determine what the right decision was at that time but I'm still going to bring it up since it supports my initial thoughts. Maybe we should have at least had some real discussions and debates about Ohio State that final week of the season instead of just handing them a playoff spot. Maybe you should have to at least make your conference championship game if you want to make the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP tournament. Maybe we could have used a "13th data point" from Ohio State like we got from the other three teams in the CFB Playoffs. Maybe we shouldn't have just assumed they would have rolled in the B1G Title Game if they would have been able to make it. Maybe you should have to earn your way into the CFB Playoffs each year instead of it being awarded to you based on reputation.
This is why I need to keep up the Three Count in 2017 so I can post predictions somewhere and not just come in after the fact. But I thought Rousey was going to lose her UFC 207 fight to Nunes, I just didn't see it going that poorly for Ronda. I was predicting a 2nd round KO from Nunes....again, easy to say after the fact but that's a huge layoff from Rousey and her not talking to the media was a huge red flag for me. If this really was her redemption match and had her focus 100% on winning she would have been talking some trash and coming in guns-blazing. When I didn't see that, it felt to me she was coming in for one last pay-check and had one foot out the door to retirement already. Give her another year or so off and look for Ronda to make a big WWE debut, followed by a couple movies and Hollywood appearances. This loss will hurt her stock a little bit but she'll still be a huge-star and a huge-name once some time passes
This is why having the Three Count in 2017 is a terrible idea. It holds me accountable for my predictions and previews. My last Three Count post was actually right before the kickoff to the NFL season where I predicted the winners of each division and playoffs. They were:
AFC EAST: New England
AFC NORTH : Pittsburgh
AFC SOUTH: Indianapolis
AFC WEST: Kansas City
WILD CARDS: Cincinnati, Denver
NFC EAST: Washington
NFC NORTH: Green Bay
NFC SOUTH: Carolina
NFC WEST: Arizona
WILDCARDS: Dallas, Seattle
AFC Title game: New England over Kansas City
NFC Title Game: Arizona over Carolina
SUPER BOWL: Arizona Cardinals over the New England Patriots
Oofta. Other than Arizona, it's really not terrible but completely whiffing on your Super Bowl champion is a tough one to overcome. A New England vs. Kansas City matchup in the AFC title game isn't that far off. I had Dallas as my NFC East Champ before the Romo injury scared me away. And Green Bay could help me tonight with a win over Detroit for the NFC North title.
Those damn Cardinals though.
