I want to give some credit to the Drake Men's Basketball team, not the Canadian musician. I was hoping by just hash-tagging Drake that I might get some more traffic to the blog here. And Drake gets enough publicity the way it is, the Drake Bulldogs deserve some good press here too. Drake defeating Indiana State last night 87-70 and moved their record to 3-2 in the MVC. It also marked their 4th straight home win of the season.
I don't know how long the Bulldogs can continue this but I'm just glad to see them and interim head coach Jeff Rutter have some success this year. After starting the year 1-10 and having head coach Ray Giacoletti resign during that stretch it looked like 2016-2017 could be a train-wreck. Maybe the train still falls of the rails at some point this year but it's good to see the train at least gaining some steam right now. Saturday at Northern Iowa could be an interesting game.
If you are not watching this show on FOX you are missing out. Could be the best show on TV right now, or at least the funniest. If you've never seen it, think a police/detective version of Parks and Rec. I just caught up with Sunday's episode a couple days ago and didn't realize it was the mid-season finale until after the fact. What about that cliff-hanger though!?!!?
Now assuming Gina is off the show (which doesn't sound like that's a done deal but that would be my guess) Brooklyn 99 will definitely lose a little bit of comedy but they more than have enough characters and personalities to make up for that loss. Gina was great at her role in the precinct but she didn't have a huge role. Hopefully this is just a red herring and she will be back, but what a surprise! Nice little cliffhanger heading into the break.
Some friends of mine shared this blog post yesterday so I thought I'd share it here as well. Quick synopsis is a current coach recalls her story about wanting to quit here HS basketball team during her high school years and her parents making her tell her coach in person and not just send an email or quit with no communication. Then she talks about the life lessons she learned from it. Good message, especially if you have young kids or work with young kids.
And the answer to the question you are probably asking yourself.....No, these friends of mine have never shared any of my blog posts or Three Counts.
