I talked about this a little bit yesterday but I'm still not sure what to call it. I initially thought it was HBO2Go, but now I'm thinking it could be HBO Go. But it also comes up as HBO Now on my app so I have no clue. Whatever it is, so far so good.
In the couple days I've had it, I've watched the entire Season 4 of Veep and started The Night Of. I have one more season left of Veep to watch and I'm all caught up, and that season is on HBO Now as well. Veep is a great show to binge-watch through only being 30 minutes an episode, with 10 episodes per series. You can get through an entire season in a day. The show is extremely funny and the characters are great.
The Night Of is HBO's current new hit and is solid. I was hoping it would be a little better than it is so far or grab my attention a little harder but I'm definitely going to watch the entire thing. Short synopsis is that a good kid goes out to a party one night but never gets there. He meets up with a mysterious woman and ends up at her place. Drinks, drugs, sex occur and when he wakes up in the morning she's been stabbed about 40 times and killed. So he's arrested for the murder.
Through two episodes it's pretty good. I was hoping for a couple more twists and turns and plot twists but it's only episode two so I'll be patient. But the plot is easy to follow and it's entertaining so far. Looking forward to the completion.
I talked yesterday briefly about Big Brother coming out with an all online season immediately following this season. I hit some talking points and some thoughts that I had but forgot the most important part of the story.
Big Brother and CBS: If you are needing Houseguests on such short notice, I'm available.
I hope forgetting to mention this yesterday doesn't cost me, but I'm more than available to be on the show this season. Sure I have a "job" that could be an issue to get out of but I know some people who know some people who could work around that I think. I'm pretty sure I'm right in that key demographic that they are looking for: slightly overweight, slowly balding male in his 30s who blogs a lot and sometimes sends out funny tweets and watches a lot of professional wrestling. That's the total package right there folks.
So since you are probably looking for some Houseguests on short notice CBS I would take the time to send in head shots or an application or anything. Just get ahold of me on Twitter (@bollmeyer11) or on Facebook (Alex Bollmeyer) and we can talk.
If you guys are reading my blog you guys are going to have to put up with my fantasy football team and talk. Deal with it. I know no one likes hearing about other people's fantasy football teams or stories but it's preseason so I think we are OK here.
We have our draft two weeks from today and I just picked up my first magazine yesterday. So I'm a little behind on my prep. We do an auction draft with a $200 salary cap and it's a Keeper league so you can Keep one player from the previous season at the price you drafted him at for 2 years. So this year I'll be bringing back Jordy Nelson for $6. A huge injury pick and stash for me last year.
So I have $194 going into draft night and my WR1 spot already filled. I've only briefly looked at the rankings so far this year but it seems like the RB position is WEAK this year. Shaky guys at the top of the rankings and no depth to the position at all. So I think I gotta get one of the Top 6 guys, then hope to hit on waivers throughout the year. And obviously get Melvin Gordon. After a rookie season putting everything together, I'm sure he bounces back this year and ends up as a Top 10 Fantasy RB. Just too much talent there.
And I think if possible I really gotta bid up Gronk. He's a beast and such a clear #1 in his position. He's the only player in fantasy football where if you have him, you are at a CLEAR advantage at that position over everyone in the league. And it's hard to see him being a bust. I think every single RB this season I could imagine somehow being a bust. Same with half of the Top 20 WRs. I can't see it with Gronk if he's healthy. Gotta try to get him.
Biggest issue I'm going to have in the next two weeks is coming up with a team name. That's always a challenge as you want to find something both topical and humorous. Being in a league filled with Republicans, last year was easy. The Obamas were a natural team name and we Threw Up The O all season. So if anyone has some suggestions on names or things to name the team after, get at me.
