Came across some sad news on Twitter last night, David Letterman's mom Dorothy passed away. I've always been a Letterman guy and remember when I was younger the times he'd have his mom on the show with him. Whether she was just live from her kitchen or traveling to report on the Olympics, it was always fun. Just sad to hear she's passed away. She lived to be 95 though so heck of a run.
Here's a couple things to remember her with. First is a YouTube video of Dave's Mother's Day package they had on the show for her. The second is the obituary her children wrote for her. Good stuff all the away around. God bless Dorothy.
As everyone probably already knows, SmackDown Live is coming to Des Moines this month. Tuesday, April 25th to be exact. Obviously I'll be going but if you guys could win me free tickets too that would be great. Here's how you can help me out and still get to go yourself.
The Iowa Events Center is having a giveaway; 4 tickets to the show. All you have to do is text WWE to the number 68982. That's it. They are picking the winner tomorrow morning.
So I need all my readers to text that WWE to that number and win us some tickets. Me, you, and 2 of your friends or 2 of my friends. I don't care. Let's win this thing!
When you enter this contest, tweet us at @808thoughts so we know who our true heroes are.
Big night for the Pacers. Win and they are in the playoffs. Lose and they are likely out.
Unfortunately though, win and they are likely the 7th seed. Somehow, Cleveland blew the inside track to the one seed and will likely finish in the 2nd place in the East. Which means even with a win tonight, Indiana is likely to see LeBron and the Cavs in the first round. Not the ideal draw.
I really think outside of Cleveland, the Pacers can hang with anyone in the East and I would have taken Indiana in their first round series. If it gets to be where it is Indiana-Cleveland in the first round, I'll have to think about it. I posted a couple days ago that I think Indiana with Paul George is actually the team most likely to take down LeBron in the East....but that doesn't mean I think it's likely either.
But, we need to take care of business tonight before we start getting too far ahead of ourselves. Home against Atlanta, who already has their seed locked up for the playoffs and played last night at home. That's a game Indiana has to win. Win and move on. Let's get it done boys.
