I've been brutal in the playoffs this season. After going 0-4 on opening weekend, I thought I had things turned around by bouncing back with a 2-0 Saturday last weekend. Nope. 0-2 on Sunday to push me to 2-6 so far and assuring me a losing record this year. Disappointing.
Let's make some picks anyways and try to finish strong.
Pittsburgh (+6) at New England - I'm just grabbing points here.
Atlanta (-5.5) vs. Green Bay - This opened at 4 and I thought all the Green Bay love from last weekend and the 8-game win streak could even push it down to 3. Wrong again. Still, give me Atlanta. They were my pick to make and win the Super Bowl from the NFC and I'm not backing down now.
Man, those guys are a mess right now. After last night's loss to Atlanta that prompted Dwayne Wade to tweet an apology for their poor play, the Bulls are currently 21-23 on the year and fighting for the 8th spot in the East. You knew going into the season that their roster was structured....uniquely may be a kind way to put it. It's been well documented and thoroughly discussed that the Bulls roster and their off-season moves didn't exactly match Coach Hoiberg's style of play. I still didn't expect it to be this bad though.
I went to an early season game of theirs in October against the Pacers. As a Pacers and Cyclones fan, I wanted to see the first Niang-Hoiberg NBA matchup. And the Bulls looked really good. I left that game thinking they could be a threat in the East. I was thinking Chicago would probably grab a 3 or 4 seed and be a team to push Cleveland if they stayed healthy.
I'm not sure what the answer is but for Hoiberg's sake I hope they figure it out quickly.
