Then I remembered this site is actually a blog site. So I'm going to try to actually blog this summer. Each morning I'm going to try to put out three thoughts, hot takes, observations, whatever. They could be over anything: Sports, Wrestling, Television, Movies, My Life, 808 Stuff, Pop Culture, Anything.
Nothing in depth. Might even just be a sentence per topic some mornings. But I'm going to try to get something quick out each day for you to start your morning. Still working on a title for this though. Starting with Three Count but that will probably change. I'm open to suggestions.
- Caught the Season 3 premiere of Girl Meets World on the DVR yesterday. They always say it's always hard to follow legends in sports or to create a great sequel in TV and movies but Girl Meets World is more than holding it's own in the footsteps of Boy Meets World. You gotta go into it knowing it's a Disney show ultimately aimed at pre-teens and teenagers, so there are going to be some hokey moments and cliched endings. But there is a lot of good stuff in there and it's also not afraid to hit on some sensitive issues, all the while adding in some humor and quality material and characters. I can't recommend this show highly enough. It could use some more Mr. Feeny cameos but that's just me being nitpicky. It's really good. And Season 3 starts with the gang entering high school and facing some new challenges, should be good.
- Had my best round of the year yesterday. Shot a 5 over 41. I'm sure I'm still not the favorite to win the 2016 Miller Masters but my odds in Vegas are getting smaller and smaller by the day. I was actually 2 over after seven holes when my playing partner goes "Hey, what's your lowest round out here? Not to jinx you or anything." I preceded to double bogey hole 8 and bogey hole 9. And I ended up with a 41, which matches my lowest round ever at the Huxley Golf and Country Club I believe.
- As a guy who predicted Cavs in 6, wasn't real surprised with Cleveland winning Game 3 but I was surprised with the way they did it. I thought Cavs would win by 6-8 points. Home court is a big deal in the playoffs and maybe especially so for Cleveland. LeBron can only do so much and needs help from his supporting cast. Those guys really played well at home on Wednesday night. I expect them to do the same in Game 4 to even the series at 2-2. I initially had the Cavs winning in 6 but last night has me thinking this series gives us a seventh game. Golden State would definitely be favored at home in a Game 7, but in a one game setting with a championship on the line I wouldn't be afraid to put my money behind LeBron James.
