But the thing with Mr. Feeny was he didn't just stay a teacher. He ended up being a principal, guidance counselor, university administrator. You name it, Feeny probably did it. So I knew if I truly wanted to follow in Feeny's footsteps I would have to go back to school and get my administrative degree so I could also be a principal or superintendent someday.
So I went back to school and graduated last year from Drake University with a Masters in School Leadership. I'd recommend the Education department at Drake University to anyone that's interested in getting into that field. I really enjoyed my two years of getting my Masters at Drake. I met some great people at Drake, they have a great weekend cohort schedule, they have some great professors that teach the class, and the classes are both relevant and interesting. I couldn't recommend it any higher. If they were on Amazon, I'd rate them 5-stars.
But one of the main components they stress at in the Education Department at Drake University is Grit. If you are going to be leader, you have to have Grit. For leaders, things don't always come easy. People won't always like you, they won't always agree with you, and things will often fail. But for a leader to be successful they can't let that get to them. Leaders can't let that stop them from doing things they believe it. Leaders have to be Gritty. Leaders have to push forward when it would be easy to quit. Leaders have to be Gritty enough to believe in themselves when the path gets challenging. It's all about Grit
And I'll tell you what guys.....I'm a Gritty Son of a Bitch.
If you thought I wasn't going to put on another Miller Masters Fantasy Golf contest just because nobody outside of the Miller family actually entered the contest last year, then you don't know me very well. If you thought I wouldn't put hours into putting this contest together again in 2016 just because the turnout in 2015 was embarrassingly low, then you don't know me very well. And if you don't think I'm going to be tweeting and posting about this contest all week, then you don't know me very well.
This is a great idea and I'm going to be Gritty enough to stick with it and see it through. I don't care if nobody enters this year either, as long as there is a 2017 Miller Masters tournament there will be a 2017 Miller Masters Fantasy Golf contest. Just like the Miller Masters itself, one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in the world, this thing is going to just keep getting bigger and bigger, better and better. You may was well hop on now while the bandwagon is empty.
